MOURINHO TO SPEND BIG FOR MORATA

Manchester United submitted a bid for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata. Madrid rejected the bid outrightly as they expected a higher figure from the Jose Mourinho led side.

Old Trafford valued him around £52.4 million but Bernabeu wanted over £75 million.

United submitted a sole player bid as David De Gea was reportedly out of the discussions. Morata scored 20 goals in all competitions this term even though he played fewer games – 14 La Liga starts. The club won the La Liga and the Champions League but he obviously had a lesser role compared to his exploits with Juventus.

Mourinho needs a top striker to replace the injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic and antecedent will not allow them spend any less as clubs would bargain as high as possible. Another option Andrea Belotti would cost over £85 million if Torino are to release him. Read more »

Gary Neville is baffled by the statements of Leicester players

Gary Neville is baffled by the statements of Leicester players after Claudio Ranieri was sent packing.

As per Neville, the players are looking to defend themselves and prove that they didn’t have any hand in that axing. But, they shouldn’t do that. They shouldn’t entertain such questions at all. For them to say things in their defence, it is making them look like dishonest.

Neville says that he is waiting for some more lads in the Foxes squad to speak on the issue in the next few days because so far what he has heard is disappointing.

There’s a word around that it’s only after the complaints made by a large fraction of the playing group that the hierarchy came to the conclusion of removing Claudio Ranieri from his chair.

In Neville’s opinion, it’s wrong on the part of the hierarchy to allow the players to speak things about the coach on his back and then take that into account to make a decision of the coach’s removal. Read more »

Petr Cech Impressed with Squad Strength at Arsenal

Petr Cech is of the opinion that Arsenal’s squad cannot be any stronger, and the fact that a midfielder like Jack Wilshere could not find a place in the team shows a lot about the strength in depth.

He believes that Arsenal can finally consider challenging for the title. Arsenal have not suffered a defeat since the opening day 4-3 loss against Liverpool. They have faced some tough teams along the way but they have come out in flying colours.
